Chelfing in the UK.

Chelfing is proud to announce that it has finally acquired land, building and production plant at the ex-Rover Longbridge site in the UK from Nanjinx Automotive.

Negotiations were successfully concluded in the early hours of Sunday 29th July.

Bisek Giddur (C.E.O. of Chelfing Automotive) said “This is a momentous occasion for both Chelfing and the people here in the East Midlands. Chelfing is proud to pick up the baton from Nanjinx Automotive, and plans to invest several dollars in the Longbridge site which will be renamed ‘Wongbridge’ in honour of Chelfing’s founder Mr Wong Chelfing*. The site will be used as the production facility for our forthcoming ‘My-stro’ model, a new model with a style familiar to UK car buyers, taking the best of early 1980’s British workmanship and the latest in Chinese materials. We expect production capacity to be around 200’000 vehicles per year at Wongbridge, with deliveries to our growing dealer network starting later in the year** as per plan”. Chelfing are at pains to refute claims in the local media (namely, the lying dogs at the Redditch Standard) that it will import 100% of the new labour force from the far east. Mr Giddur explains “Due to the highly competitive nature of the UK Automotive market, we cannot achieve the cost-targets required by using UK labour alone. Therefore it is possible that we will bring in a few containers of Sino-Asian labour to help us keep costs to a minimum. Keep on Chelfing”.

Chelfing is appealing to ex-Rover employees to contact Chelfing HR department, especially those with experience of engine test, body-in-white build, and quartic wheel assembly. Excellent rates of pay are offered, with the use of Chelfing’s timeshare apartment in Macau for senior management, plus a subsidized canteen offering traditional Sino-Asian food***, and chips.

More information on the exciting My-stro, and timeframes for production ramp-up in the UK will be released to the worlds media soon.
